We headed down south this weekend for the Bike America races at Brian Piccolo Park and Vista View. A great weekend of team racing was overshadowed by Vance James' crash on Saturday. Vance took a very hard spill halfway into the event but was able to get back on his bike for a 14th place finish. Unfortunately, he was too injured to participate in sundays race. He will be seeing a specialist this week to gauge the full extent of his injuries. As mentioned, the team rode very well this weekend. Saturday saw a 7th place finish from Bradley Jefferson, 10th from Kurt Philips, and 13th from Kevin Parker. Jamie Knight finished an impressive fourth in the cat three race. On Sunday, both Jamie and Derek Phillips rode great races on an extremely difficult Vista View course finishing 6th and 8th.
We will be off this weekend but racing will resume the following weekend on the famous and feared Webster-Roubaix course which features 2.5 miles of dirt road per lap!
